Standard Lucas type 3-pin blade as original fitment to these engines and with screw termination connector for connecting additional items such as leisure batteries. This high output unit can replace the original alternator (Which normally would be only 35 amps) and provide plenty of additional current to charge leisure or auxiliary batteries.

It may be advisable to update or change cables on your application to carry the additional current. Optionally the auxiliary batteries can be connected via a split charge relay which prevents the starter battery from discharging whilst using the auxiliary battery.

The relay simply connects between the the alternator terminal and the leisure battery and will automatically manage the charging system. This alternator is also fitted with a'tacho' output terminal if needed but not often used. This alternator is the Left hand fit version which is the common alternator fitted to this engine.

If you do not understand this then please look at the images and match them to your alternator. Please note that some boat builders have mounted alternators in different, non standard positions eg, Upside down or on the other side of the engine.
